Website Stand Up Survivor

Stand Up Survivor is seeking a skilled and compassionate therapist to join our team and work with clients who have experienced domestic violence. The counselor will provide individual and group therapy to help clients heal from the trauma of their experiences, cope with triggers, move forward to healing and thriving in life.

As a domestic violence counselor at Stand Up Survivor, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of clients who have been through difficult and traumatic experiences. You will be responsible for assessing clients’ needs and developing appropriate treatment plans, as well as providing individual and group therapy sessions. You will also collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including case managers and advocates, to ensure that clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

To be successful in this role, you should have a background in trauma-focused therapy and experience working with victims of domestic violence. You should be able to create a safe and supportive environment for clients, and be adept at building rapport and trust with clients who may be skeptical or resistant to therapy. In addition, you should be able to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.


Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field

Preferred previous experience providing therapy to clients

Preferred working with clients who have experienced domestic violence

Strong knowledge of trauma-focused therapy approaches

Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the treatment team
