SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the CFO, this position prepares monthly and bi-weekly payrolls for employees of Converge. In accordance with our mission to help people meet, know and follow Jesus by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide, this person must believe in our vision, live a life modeling a vibrant walk with Christ and hold to our Affirmation of Faith. This is a salaried, full-time position located at the Converge headquarters in Orlando, Florida.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Records hours of work, processes timecards, compiles payroll statistics, and calculates payrolls for all new and existing employees.
• Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title, and department.
• Works closely with the HR Benefits Administrator to coordinate the addition to payroll of new employees and their appropriate payroll deductions for benefits and insurance.
• Removes former employees from payroll on a timely basis.
• Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
• Works closely with Retirement Plan Administrator with regard to changes in employee pay and deductions.
• Prepares 941 for Director of Accounting to file for tax purposes.
• Prepares state tax filings.
• Responsible for year-end tax filings such as W-2, 1099, and ACA required filings.
• Assists Retirement Plan, Accounts Payable, Receivable, and other Accounting positions when needed, covering for vacations and seasons of increased workload due to calendar and fiscal year end.
• Assists Director of Accounting with audit prep and other duties as needed

MATHEMATICAL AND EXCEL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Excel.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
