Pastor Johnnie walked us through Deuteronomy 6:4–9, the Shema—Israel’s core confession of faith—and showed how it forms a blueprint for building a Christ-centered home. First, we were challenged to listen carefully: before we lead anyone else, we must first listen to our Father. Second, we must love completely, giving God our full affection, commitment, and strength in a world filled with competing “gods.” Third, we were called to lead consistently—impressing faith on the next generation through rhythms, repetition, and daily conversation. And finally, we must live clearly, letting our homes visibly reflect our commitment to serve the Lord.
